We've been waiting for this for some time now but it seems that Sven Bender will play against Hoffenheim for the first time this season. Maybe he'll be the one that can solidify the shaky defense.
On the other hand we'll be without 11(!) players on Friday. Roman Bürki, Sokratis, Marc Bartra, Neven Subotic, Lukasz Piszczek, Nuri Sahin, Gonzalo Castro, Raphael Guerreiro, Sebastian Rode and Erik Durm are definitely out while Shinji Kagawa is still doubtful for the game. The winter break can't come soon enough.
UPDATE: Shinji Kagawa and Marc Bartra are both making the trip to Hoffenheim. It is still unclear if they'll play but they might be in the squad for the game.
- Julian Weigl will give us an early Christmas present

The German sports-newspaper RevierSport reports that Julian Weigl will sign an extension before Christmas. He'll apparently sign a contract that runs through 2021 and the extension will see his salary rise from 1.5€ million per year to over 5€ million.
This is in line with a lot of other reports circulating in Germany right now so it's probably happening. It would be a great sign for the club to tie the exciting young midfielder to the club for a long time.
