Quick Picks: Bundesliga Matchday 10

Bunch o’ toughies this weekend?

Last Week’s Record: 3-6 (I guess that’s what I get for predicting draws)

TEAM OF THE WEEK: SC Freiburg

PLAYER OF THE WEEK: Robert Lewandowski

Hertha BSC Berlin vs. Borussia Monchengladbach - 2-0 Berlin

At home, Hertha should earn a favorable result against a tough Gladbach side. Hertha has been stellar at home this season while Gladbach has only collected one point and two goals on the road. It’ll be all Berlin in this one.

Bayer Leverkusen vs. SV Darmstadt 98 - Leverkusen 3-0

Darmstadt struggled at home to Leipzig so going on the road to the BayArena won’t make life any easier for the blues. It should be a relatively routine victory for Leverkusen despite coming off a midweek match.

Bayern Munich vs. TSG 1899 Hoffenheim - 2-2 draw

Probably one of the most interesting matchups of the week. The home team is likely favored to win in this game but the way Hoffenheim has performed on the road, it’s more possible that the teams will draw.

FC Ingolstadt vs. FC Augsburg - Augsburg 2-1

Schanzer has been abysmal at home this season. With Augsburg looking to find three points and a stout defensive effort, both look to be possible on the road this weekend.

SC Freiburg vs. VfL Wolfsburg - Freiburg 1-0

Freiburg has not dropped points in any home game this season. Wolfsburg can’t find the back of the net. Kind of a no-brainer.

Eintracht Frankfurt vs. 1. FC Koln - 1-0

In what is easily the toughest matchup to pick this weekend, neither team really has the upper hand. Koln, led by Anthony Modeste, will likely take a close, thrilling game on the road.

RB Leipzig vs. 1. FSV Mainz 05 - Leipzig 2-0

Leipzig has only allowed six goals all season and hosts a team that has conceded 15. At home, no way LawnBallSport drops this one.

FC Schalke 04 vs. Werder Bremen - Schalke 2-0

Finally, the team from Gelsenkirchen has shown up to play. Forcing a scoreless draw in the Revierderby last weekend, Bremen at home will be no challenge for Schalke. Chalk up another victory for a surging 04.

Hamburger SV vs. Borussia Dortmund - Dortmund 3-0

Enough is enough already. Dortmund finally earned a midweek victory and are looking to be headed on the right track. Three points and Gotze goal could be just what the doctor ordered this weekend.
