The Daily Bee (November 24, 2016): Neven in Disneyland

It's the best week ever!

Happy Thanksgiving everyone. From what I hear you 'Muricans have a special day today across the pond where you eat crazy amounts of food and watch some football. So have fun with that.

  • Neven Subotic gave his comeback yesterday and you won't believe it...

Yep, he scored the winner for BVB II in a Regionalliga game against SV Rödinghausen. Good to see him back on the field. After the game he had this to say:

  • Champions League results

Rostow 3 - 2 Bayern München

Wait what's that? A loose screw? Looks like it is from a chair, that chair is probably very shaky right now...

Atletico 2 - 0 Eindhoven

A solid performance from Atletico, they did what they had to do to secure the first place in group D.

Gladbach 1 - 1 ManCity

This game started very interesting with a Pep-team that dominated possession as expected and a Fohlenelf that relied on counter attacks. They pressed high and were successful at first. Raffael finished a counter to give Gladbach the lead. However City was able to equalize just before halftime. After two laughable red cards for each side in the second half the quality of the game dropped off considerably. Gladbach will continue in the Europa League.

Celtic 0 - 2 Barcelona

Messi is a football-God and I hope our backline will never have to face him.

Arsenal 2 - 2 PSG

The duel for the group win ended in a draw for the second time. PSG started strong and got a deserved lead in the first half but Giroud equalized just before halftime on a penalty. Arsenal came out the gate strong in the second half but PSG was able to escape North London with a draw.

Ludogorets 0 - 0 Basel

My condolences for everybody that watched this game.

Besiktas 3 - 3 Benfica

An incredible comeback from the Turkish side. They were trailing 0-3 at the half only to turn things around in the second half. Aboubakar scored the equalizer in the 89th minute. The draw keeps them in contention for the top two places in the group.

Napoli 0 - 0 Kiev

Napoli has been surprisingly weak during this Champions League campaign but they will probably win an easy group.

Daily Buzz: Can we make a deal with Real? Let's take a look at the standings right now:

1st place: Barcelona, Atletico, Monaco, Leicester (all confirmed first place finish), Juventus, Dortmund, Napoli, PSG

2nd place: ManCity, Bayern, Leverkusen (all confirmed second place finish) Arsenal, Benfica, Real, Porto, Sevilla

Since we can't get drawn against German teams and Real can't get drawn against Spanish teams it might be better for Real to finish second. They would avoid Barca and Atletico probably the best teams in the first pot and we would avoid Bayern.
