Week 10 Record: 7-2
TEAM OF WEEK 11: Borussia Dortmund
PLAYER OF WEEK 11: Yunus Malli
SC Freiburg vs. RB Leipzig - Leipzig 3-1
Leipzig is atop the table in the Bundesliga and is the best team in the league on the road. When the two newly promoted teams meet on Friday, Leipzig should continue its dominance as they look to be the second team to win the title in the same year as their promotion (Kaiserslautern 1998).
1. FC Koln vs. FC Augsburg - Koln 2-0
At home, FC Koln has been stellar this season. Not to mention the league’s second best defense against one of the worst offensive teams, should be a win for the home side.
Borussia Monchengladbach vs. TSG 1899 Hoffenheim - 1-1 draw
Tough one to call indeed. One of the best home teams in the league against one of the best road teams. And with the form Hoffenheim has been in lately, hard to think they’ll lose to a struggling Gladbach side. Settle for a draw.
FC Ingolstadt vs. VfL Wolfsburg - Wolfsburg 3-1
At home, Ingolstadt is one of the worst teams in the league with just one point in five games. While Wolfs haven’t been terrific offensively, a game against Ingolstadt is the opportunity for a turnaround.
Hamburger SV vs. Werder Bremen - Hamburg 1-0
Well, this is an ugly one! Two of the league’s worst teams do battle. I definitely was unsure about this one so I got some outside help. The person, who shall remain anonymous, chose the winner because “why not pick a team named after a Hamburger.” Touche on that one.
Bayern Munich vs. Bayer Leverkusen - Leverkusen 2-1
Hmmm....another tough one to pick. While it’s tough to pick Munich losing at home and its second straight, they will be coming back from Russia on Wednesday. An extra days rest for Leverkusen - also returning from Russia - will prove valuable in this one.
FC Schalke 04 vs. SV Darmstadt 98 - Schalke 2-1
Even Gelsenkirchen FC can’t manage to screw this one up. Struggling Darmstadt can’t score and Schalke can’t concede. Not a hard one, or at least it shouldn’t be. But with 04, you never know...
Hertha BSC Berlin vs. 1. FSV Mainz 05 - Berlin 2-1
The home side has been stout defensively while Mainz has found success by simply outscoring its opponents. Another even matchup and a tough one to call, but when it doubt pick the home side. Usually doesn’t fail in the Bundesliga.
Eintracht Frankfurt vs. Borussia Dortmund - Dortmund 2-0
On the road, Dortmund has collected just seven points in five games. But as BVB gets healthier and Frankfurt has started to lose some ground, a road win will give Dortmund even more confident.
