For everything something good happens something bad has to happen. After winning our game against Bayern Munich yesterday, BVB has announced that starting goalkeeper Roman Burki will be out for up to 8 weeks. This will put him out until the winter break at the very least. With a few more games to go until break this injury is a huge blow to the team. Luckily Roman Weidenfeller, Burki’s predecessor, will be available for these games. Weidenfeller is a seasoned veteran and won’t make any silly of the mistakes backups goalies tend to do. In the games he has played this season he has looked usable which is a good sign as we try to get back into contention this season. Hopefully the wear and tear of playing every game doesn’t get our back up like it did our starter. Get better soon Burki, It’s going to be a long season.
