World Cup Qualifying: Asia

Shinji Kagawa (Japan) - Kagawa was an unused substitute in Japan’s 2-1 victory over Iran Wednesday. A bigger test awaits the Japanese when they head to Australia on Tuesday for a showdown with the Socceroos in Melbourne.

World Cup Qualifying: Europe

Emre Mor (Turkey) - Mor started and played a full 90 minutes in Turkey’s 2-2 draw with Ukraine. The 19-year-old picked up a yellow card in the 87th minute of that match. Turkey will travel to Iceland on Sunday for their third of ten World Cup Qualifying matches.

Sokratis Papastathopoulos (Greece) - Sokratis and Greece host Cyprus on Friday before heading to Estonia on Monday.

Raphael Guerreiro (Portugal) - Guerreiro and European Champions Portugal have a relatively simple path to the 2018 World Cup, continuing with qualifying matches this weekend against Andorra and Faroe Islands.

Roman Burki (Switzerland) - Burki and the Swiss join Portugal as favorites to advance out of Group B. The Swiss team faces Hungary and Andorra this weekend in qualifying.

Julian Weigl, Mario Gotze (Germany) - Dortmund’s duo of German national team representatives look to help Die Mannschaft qualify for the 2018 World Cup. The Germans have a pair of tests this weekend, taking on stalwart Czech Republic and Northern Ireland squads.

World Cup Qualifying: Africa

Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang (Gabon) - Auba and the upstart Gabonese squad will host Morocco on Saturday for a chance to shift the group in their favor.

International Friendlies: North America

Christian Pulisic (USA) - The United States have qualified for the CONCACAF Hexagonal but will participate in a pair of international friendlies this weekend against Cuba in Havana and against New Zealand in Washington D.C.
