Back to the winning ways?

After two disappointing games in the Bundesliga, Borussia Dortmund was able to get back to their winning ways in the Champions League against Sporting Club Portugal.

Nevertheless the black and yellows still suffer from a plethora of injuries that will test the depth of the squad for at least a couple more weeks. Especially the back-line will be reshuffled once again after Bartra and Ginter picked up some knocks against the Lisbon club.

This weeks opponent, FC Ingolstadt 04, are currently sitting in last place with only one point, but we all know looks can be deceiving and the Schanzer have played better than their record might indicate.

WHAT TO WATCH FOR: Counter Attacks

Ingolstadt will no doubt park the bus and try to score on the counter. The Bayern-game might be the best indicator of the kind of game we'll see this Saturday. Even though Bayern won, Ingolstadt arguably deserved a point in that game. Their defense is solid and both of their strikers, Lezcano and Hinterseer, are dangerous on fast breaks. It will be crucial to keep up the pressure and nip their counter attacks in the bud.

KEY TO THE GAME: Score first

Sounds easy right?

It will be very important to be the first team on the score sheet. Going down to a defensive minded team on the road that doesn't allow many chances to their opponents would be terrible, especially considering BVB's patchwork defense at the moment. Aubameyang and co. need to be clinical in using the opportunities that present themselves to them.

PLAYER TO WATCH: Lukas Hinterseer

The Austrian striker is Ingolstadt’s best scorer this season with three goals, albeit two of them coming off of penalty-kicks. He's technically sound, has good pace and a knack for being in the right place at the right time, a virtue that is required to be a good striker. Our Greek warrior will have to keep an eye on Hinterseer.

PROJECTED LINEUP:

  • Formation: 4-5-1
  • Goaltender: Örjan Nyland
  • Defenders: Markus Suttner, Marcel Tisserand, Marvin Matip, Tobias Levels
  • Midfielders: Roger, Almog Cohen, Pascal Groß, Moritz Hartmann, Stefan Lex
  • Forward: Lukas Hinterseer

PREDICTION: 3-1 Dortmund

After two tough Bundesliga games without a win, Dortmund should be able to get three points this week. Although Ingolstadt shouldn't be dismissed and Tuchel still has to work around the injury-crisis that has hit the roster, a win is still expected from the black and yellows.
