When it comes to injuries on the BVB squad, things are getting a little ridiculous. With so many players hurt BVB couldn't afford anyone getting hurt in our game against Hertha. And then Schmelzer went down in the second half. With BVB needing an answer on offence down the stretch losing the captain in our last sub was not ideal.

The news today makes things worse as the captain is now reported to be injured for two weeks, taking him out of our Champions League fixture against Sporting and Bundesliga match against Ingolstadt. Hopefully Schmelzer is back by our derby against Schalke at the end of the month. With a squad that is so depleted already we are going to need everyone at their best to get decent results for the next few weeks. Felix Passlack should be able fill into the starting role at left back well enough until Raph or Marcel are better.
