According to SZ there is a new rift in Dortmund. Manager Thomas Tuchel and CEO Hans-Joachim Watzke have reportedly been fighting recently, coming to a breaking point this weekend. The fight is over, according to the reports, Watzke not being happy with Tuchel’s remarks over UEFA’s handling of the bus bombing. Watzke asked Tuchel this weekend to talk about the grievances and Tuchel flat out said that he did not want to discuss it this week according to SZ.
While this is a lot of speculation Watzke did say he was not pleased with Tuchel in a interview on Friday. He said not only will the results affect Tuchel but how they trust and communicate with each other will as well. This is not the first time Tuchel has fought with the club. he had a row with the head scout at BVB last year that became public. If there truly is this big of a rift between the manager and the club then this may be the last of Tuchel. That would be a big shame as the players consistently share how much Tuchel does for them. With a glut of young talent Tuchel has developed a new manager may not be able to do the same job. In the end we may lose morale in the team for this indecent as well as ward off interest from other managers.
